Professor Christine Aidala was part of a 15-member National Academy of Sciences committee that has endorsed a future U.S.-based Electron-Ion Collider to study the quarks and gluons within protons and nuclei. The committee's report was released on July 24, 2018. The committee was comprised of both experts in the field and prominent physicists from other areas. Professor Aidala served as an expert in the field, internationally recognized for her experimental work studying the spin-dependent dynamics of quarks and gluons within the proton.
Professor Aidala was quoted in Gizmodo about the report. Find out more about the decision in Science.
