Zaher Hani, the Frederick W. and Lois B. Gehring Professor of Mathematics, will receive the 2026 Leonard Eisenbud Prize for Mathematics and Physics from the AMS. He is recognized with is collaborator Yu Deng of the University of Chicago for their fundamental contributions to the theory of dispersive PDE and, in particular, to a new understanding of wave kinetic equations. The Eisenbud Prize is presented every three years and honors a work or group of works, published in the preceding six years, that brings mathematics and physics closer together.
