Congratulations to Elizabeth Collins-Woodfin (formerly Elizabeth Collins-Wildman), who is one of two winners of JMM2021 AWM Graduate Student Poster Competition. The winners were announced on the AWM facebook site https://www.facebook.com/awmmath.  Lizbee is in her 5th year of the PhD program, studying probability under the direction of Jinho Baik.

Her poster, entitled "Overlaps of a spherical spin glass model with external field (PDF)" involves spin glasses and random matrix theory. This project focuses on the spherical Sherrington Kirkpatrick spin glass model and analyzes the transition between the model with an external field and the one without an external field. The analysis relies heavily on techniques from random matrix theory. The poster is based on joint work with Jinho Baik, Pierre Le Doussal, and Hao Wu.
