Michelle Ferréz has served as director of the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) since 2018 and now also holds the role of assistant vice provost for undergraduate research and student success. Under her leadership, UROP is transitioning into the newly established Center for Research, Scholarly, and Creative Inquiry—an initiative that reflects U-M’s commitment to expanding scale and advancing equitable access for its more than 32,000 undergraduate students.
