The UM Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) offers funding specifically to help undergraduate student researchers cover manuscript preparation, including editing and costs associated with open access journals and submission costs. We also support costs associated with the publication of University of Michigan undergraduate student-led research journals.
Publication, Journals, Communication of Research
- Allocated Funding: funding will support anywhere from $500 - $2,000.
- Purpose: To provide funds for student scholarly communication, adapting to the evolving landscape of scholarly dissemination.
- Goal: To enable student researchers to share findings, engage with peers, and contribute to the collective body of knowledge across diverse platforms.
Please note: Should you be awarded funding, we require a financial document with associated costs (please see the UROP Student Publication Funding Toolkit for an example of this).
U-M Undergraduate Student Research Journals: should you be allocated funding, we require a submission of a final financial report at the end of the budget year (June 30th) with detailed receipts (audit) of how the funds were used.
