Do you have a research idea that crosses departmental lines?
We are excited to announce the Nexus Grant, a new funding initiative designed to support undergraduate researchers working with mentors from two or more distinct fields.
Today’s biggest challenges—from climate change to AI ethics—won't be solved by a single discipline.
That’s why UROPs Center for Research, Scholarship, and Creative Inquiry is investing in the next generation of boundary-crossing researchers. The research fellowship incentivizes collaboration rather than just "double-mentorship.” The fellowship will ensure the research is truly integrative (where fields interact) rather than just additive (students working in two research environments separately).
Students: Funding to bridge the gap between disciplines and solve the problems that one major alone can’t handle.
Faculty: Secure funding for your collaborative pilots.
Detailed information about the Nexus Grant, including student and mentor applications, will be available on April 1, 2026.
