The ELI is buzzing this July with 22 new U-M international graduate students from half a dozen different countries who are participating in ELI’s Summer EAP program in Graduate English for Academic Purposes. This year’s group includes students from U-M’s College of LSA, Ross School of Business, the College of Engineering, the School of Kinesiology, the Taubman College of Architecture, the Ford School of Public Policy, and the Law School. Students hit the ground running with a welcome celebration on July 1, followed by a week of orientation and teambuilding that included a scavenger hunt in which teams competed to see who could most creatively photograph iconic locations around campus. For the next six weeks, they will continue getting to know one another in this cohort-based program as they work together on academic English coursework, engaged learning opportunities outside the classroom, and fun outings in the glorious Michigan summer, too!
