SUMMER EAP: Graduate English for Academic Purposes *

Get to know Michigan and Ann Arbor, meet new friends, and prepare for academic success with our engaging summer program!

Summer EAP is a rigorous and engaging six-week intensive language program for newly-admitted U-M graduate and professional students who will be studying in the U.S. for the first time. Gain confidence and fluency using English. Learn about U.S. academic culture, including faculty expectations and graduate student life and life in Michigan and the U.S. Connect with other graduate students and begin to develop a social network to support you throughout your time at Michigan!

ONLINE PRE-ARRIVAL COURSE FOR U-M GRADUATE STUDENTS

Preparing for Graduate Success *

A highly-interactive four-week online course designed for newly-admitted U-M graduate and professional students who will be studying in the U.S. for the first time. Learn about the language and culture of graduate school in U.S., familiarize yourself with campus resources, and start building your U-M social network before you arrive in Ann Arbor!

GSI PREPARATION

International GSIs in LSA: ELI 994 College Teaching in the U.S.: Pedagogy, Culture and Language

Summer ELI 994 is a 3-week full-time Intensive course for new LSA graduate students who completed their undergraduate degrees in a language other than English and are expected to teach in their first semester. Questions? Please contact ELI’s GSI Advisor Brenda Imber at prousimb@umich.edu
