M-etrics will be on a hiatus during the Winter 2024 semester. If you are still interested in joining the student group, please check back before the Fall 2024 semester.

M-etrics is one of the undergraduate economics clubs at the University of Michigan. The goal of M-etrics is to teach students coding and Econometrics in an applied setting to prepare them for successful careers in academia or industry. The focus is primarily on Python and R, but other languages and platforms may be explored and discussed. Topics that are being covered will change each semester, but current topics are: working with data, data cleaning, data visualization, and other more advanced topics (such as web scraping). Future topics could include, but are not limited to, methods and tests such as: Mann-Whitney U-test, Lasso regression, ridge regression, and working with big data. Members will end each term by working on a project of their choosing which should demonstrate what they have learned that semester. M-etrics recruits at the beginning of the Fall and Winter semesters, so if you are interested in joining be on the lookout for announcements. If you would like more information or have any questions the board can be reached via email at
