The Rackham Conference Travel Grant is intended to provide opportunities for Rackham graduate students to become familiar with, and participate in the life of, their academic professions. You must submit your application before the first day of the conference for travel through the end of the final term of registration. Applications will not be considered for retroactive funding.
These grants provide funds for items not normally available through the student's university. Additionally, these grants allow doctoral students to undertake significant data-gathering projects and to conduct field research in settings away from their campus that would not otherwise be possible. Three times a year, the department has a call for proposals for graduate student research funding. To be considered for research funding, you must have completed your second year in the program.

The Rackham Graduate Student Research Grant is designed to support Rackham graduate students who need assistance to carry out research that advances their progress towards their degree. Graduate students are eligible to apply for a Rackham Graduate Student Research Grant if: he/she is in good standing and if the proposed research project directly relates to or helps achieve progress towards his or her degree. Doctoral students are eligible to receive 2 awards and master's student is eligible to receive one.
The Rackham Graduate Student Emergency Fund is intended to help meet the financial needs of Rackham graduate students who encounter an emergency situation or one-time, unusual, or unforeseen expenses during their degree program.
The PhD Travel Grant are monthly awards for students that have completed their second year in the program. Applicants will be reviewed on the 15th of the month and notified if they have been approved.
