This workshop is with RLL's 31st Hayward Keniston Lecture Guest Professor Claudio Lomnitz (Columbia University) and is a discussion of a pre-circulated paper titled, “Mexico's First Lynching:  Crime, Moral Panic, Dependency," which examines the social production of fear as Mexico committed to a progressive dictatorship at the end of the 19th century.
