The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures offers study abroad scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000.

Rules for RLL Scholarship Eligibility:
- Students must be an active student at U of M Ann Arbor
- Most scholarships are limited to declared majors or minors in a Romance language with some exceptions. See individual award descriptions for more information.
- Students must apply within the application periods noted below, students who are already abroad will not be eligible for consideration.
- Preference is given to students with financial need, however, all students should feel encouraged to apply.
Application Windows:
Fall/Academic year programs: January 1 through the second Friday in March. Scholarship decisions will be sent out by mid-April.
Winter term programs: September 27 through mid October. Scholarship decisions will be sent out in November.
Spring/Summer term programs: January 1 through the second Friday in February. Scholarship decisions will be sent out by mid-March.

Vincenti Study Abroad Scholarship
Vincenti Scholarships are open to declared majors in French, Italian, Romance Languages & Literatures, and Spanish at U-M. These scholarships are awarded based on academic achievements, strength of application, and financial need. They are specifically for fall semester, winter semester or academic year U-M study abroad programs, excluding spring and summer programs.
Canzano Study Abroad Scholarship
The Canzano Study Abroad Scholarship is open to students studying Italian, Portuguese, and/or Spanish in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures (RLL) at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievements, strength of application, and financial need. This scholarship may be used for a spring or summer U-M study abroad program only. Students must be declared as a major or minor in RLL to receive this scholarship, however preference will be given to students planning to study in Spain, Argentina, Portugal, or Italy, as stated in the endowment guidelines.
Chiara Maria Levin Study Abroad Scholarship
The Chiara Maria Levin Study Abroad Scholarship for Excellence in the Romance Languages at U-M is open to declared majors and minors in RLL who are planning to study abroad in spring or summer and have been accepted to a U-M study abroad program. This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievements and strength of application. Preference is given to students that have studied more than one language at U-M Ann Arbor.
Ernst Pulgram Italian Study Abroad Scholarship
The Ernst Pulgram Italian Study Abroad Scholarship is open to students studying Italian at U-M and may be used for a fall, winter, spring, or summer term study abroad program, as well as for an academic year. Students do not have to be declared as a major or minor in Italian to receive this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievements and strength of application.
Vincenti Summer Study Abroad Scholarship
The Vincenti Scholarship is open to declared majors in French, Italian, Romance Languages & Literatures, and Spanish at U-M. The scholarship is specifically for spring or summer U-M study abroad programs. This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievements, strength of application, and financial need.
Beverly Sherman Nash Study Abroad Scholarship
The Beverly Sherman Nash Study Abroad Scholarship is open to students studying French in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievements and strength of application. This scholarship may be used for a spring or summer U-M term study abroad program in France.
Lucille Bryant Wilson Study Abroad Scholarship
The Lucille Bryant Wilson Study Abroad Scholarship is open to declared majors and minors in Portuguese, French, Italian, Romance Languages & Literatures, and Spanish who are studying abroad in spring or summer. This scholarship may only be used for a U-M study abroad program.
Suzanne Karpus Study Abroad Scholarship
The Suzanne Karpus Study Abroad Scholarship is open to students studying Spanish at U-M and may be used for a spring or summer term study abroad program.Students must be declared as a major or minor in Spanish to receive this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievements, strength of application, and financial need.
