Purpose of prerequisites
Courses may have prerequisites, which are background courses necessary to do well in a course. Prerequisites are displayed by both the LSA Course Guide and Atlas.
Enforced vs advisory prerequisites
Enforced prerequisites
- Background courses that are required before you can register for a course.
- Wolverine Access will not let you register without the prerequisite.
- Students must have satisfactorily completed or are currently enrolled in the prerequisites for the course or have a departmental override to enroll in the course.
Advisory prerequisites
- These are recommended courses, but not required.
- Wolverine access will allow you to register without the prerequisite.
