Understanding the Legal Responsibilities of Organizations by Centering the Experiences of Individuals
My pathway is designed to study the role of human capital in organizations, and the role of the legal system in protecting the rights of workers. I want to learn about the legal responsibilities of organizations, and explore situations where there is a gap between those responsibilities and the lived experiences of the individuals involved. Ultimately, I hope to advocate for the rights of workers and advise organizations on the cultivation of inclusive and equitable environments for their staff. Language is central to the law and understanding our rights, so this pathway is complemented by my linguistics minor. Specifically, I want to explore diverse perspectives into the role of language in organizations and how that translates to the lived experiences of individuals.
