Kelly LaPierre is a Lecturer and proud OS alum class of 2007. In addition to lecturing, Kelly runs her own strategic consultancy supporting nonprofits and startup companies across Michigan. Her expertise and research primarily focuses on the impact of support organizations such as workforce training and development programs, accelerators, incubators, co-working spaces, startup studios, corporate innovation initiatives and community building events. She is passionate about promoting entrepreneurship, economic development, and community engagement in Detroit.
Kelly has spent the past 13+ years starting companies, investing in companies and coaching founders and startups. This included founding the Desai Accelerator at the Ross School of Business, an intensive program of funding, mentorship, and resources to help early stage ventures scale and succeed. In 2015 she was named Crains Detroit Business "40 under 40" and “25 Women in Tech.” She has a BA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
