PATHWAY
Positive Organizational Scholarship; Human Capital and Leadership
To best prepare myself for the workforce and the change I seek to make in the workforce by finding points of intervention, I have chosen my pathways to be: Positive Organizational Scholarship and Leadership/ Human Capital. It’s possible to approach organizations in a way that isn’t like a factory, rethinking the traditional model of what we’ve inherited as normal. Through exploration of my pathway, I will have the resources to remodel the way we navigate organizations in a way that isn’t so mechanical and rigid. Typically, we don’t turn the lens to those that have the power to shape the experience, but the vulnerable categories of people that are impacted most and we then stigmatize and categorize them. I will be a part of the change that tends to the root of organizational issues, with the help of my pathway. I seek to acknowledge the plurality of identities and varying work contexts. Intentionally crafting a personalized understanding of group members will advance the efficiency of organizations overall. Through coursework centered in my Org-Studies pathways, I aim to deepen my understanding of how individuals function within organizations at both micro and macro levels.
