Integrating Positive Leadership and People Skills to Create Fun and Effective Workplaces
Through my OS pathway, I hope to learn both the technical skills and the people skills needed to create safe, fun, and highly functional workplaces as a future HR professional. I am excited to take classes integrating data, research, leadership techniques, and people skills to make me the best resource that I can be for the employees I hope to serve. I will combine the things I learn about people and their motivations from my psychology major with what I learn about organizational structure and function from my OS major to help me create these ideal workspaces. I have known that I want to work in HR for a while now because I have always been interested in helping people enjoy work and thrive in their workplace, but I am still trying to figure out which industry I want to work in. I am confident that OS’s unique ability to offer classes in multiple UofM colleges will help me achieve clarity in this. I also hope to pursue research within OS that will help me gain a better understanding of what is currently working in workplaces and what is not.
