Taking a People-First Approach to Management in Theatre and Film
I aim to build a supportive culture within the arts where every member feels welcome, valued, and inspired. I plan to achieve this through a career in casting and producing; both fields require balancing various moving parts, but their core goals are to identify and support the individuals who make the work possible. Creating inclusive spaces requires conscious decision-making, and I’m interested in applying psychology and sociology-based foundations to improve how film and theatre companies treat artists, whether in audition rooms, rehearsals, or on set. Learning about the power structures of organizations in Organizational Studies will guide me as I seek to flatten harmful hierarchies normalized across the entertainment industry. My deep understanding of organizations and the administrative arts makes me not just a member of the film and theatre industries but a leader within them.
