Hi, my name is Lauren Kohanim, and I’m an incoming Organizational Studies student. During my time at Michigan, I have developed a strong interest in understanding how organizational structures create environments where individuals feel supported and empowered, and courses such as OS 295: Building Belonging and ES 212: Entrepreneurship Business Basics have further strengthened this foundation.
I am especially drawn to the interdisciplinary nature of OS, particularly its emphasis on Leadership & Human Capital, Positive Organizational Scholarship, and Entrepreneurship. Through my future classes, I hope to build skills in recruitment, employee development, and organizational culture.
Ultimately, I intend to pursue a career in Human Resources within the financial sector, where I can help build inclusive workplace environments that enable individuals from all backgrounds to succeed.
