Understanding People and Systems of Healthcare
My goal after school is to enter the medical field aids in my interest in understanding the human side of healthcare. I want to study how people think, behave, and make decisions so that I can communicate more effectively with patients and build trust in clinical settings. By exploring psychology and social behavior, I hope to develop skills that will help me navigate patient interactions, especially when it comes to reaching agreements about treatment and care. I am also interested in learning about organizational wrongdoing and the role of non-profits, as these areas can impact access to care and the quality of healthcare systems. Additionally, I want to examine the social determinants of health to better understand how factors like environment, socioeconomic status, and community shape patient outcomes. Overall, this Pathway reflects my desire to combine scientific knowledge with a deep understanding of people and systems in order to become a more empathetic and effective healthcare professional.
