Rebeca is a three-time University of Michigan graduate, visual storyteller, and Doctoral Candidate at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. A Xicana interdisciplinary scholar and artist from Southwest Detroit, her research examines the intersections of visual culture, community knowledge, and multimodal methodologies. She is committed to using visual, documentary, and multimodal media to advance community-driven research and amplify community narratives. Drawing on her expertise as both a qualitative and quantitative researcher alongside her artistic practice, Rebeca translates complex research into accessible, public-facing scholarship that bridges disciplinary boundaries. Her work integrates research, storytelling, and creative practice to foster collaboration across fields and imagine more equitable, community-centered futures.
