About
Courtney Smith is earning her second master’s degree in social work and has over a decade of experience in social impact leadership. She is the Founder and CEO of Detroit Phoenix Center, a nationally recognized nonprofit that supports youth experiencing housing instability and systemic inequities. Courtney earned her first master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Harvard University and is committed to advancing racial justice, transforming organizations, and creating pathways to equity. Outside of her academic and professional work, Courtney holds the title of Ms. USA World and enjoys traveling and spending time with loved ones.
