We are excited to welcome Associate Professor Tiffany Brannon, who officially joined the Organizational Studies faculty at the start of the Fall 2025 semester. Professor Brannon holds a joint courtesy appointment in the U-M Department of Psychology and brings to OS her expertise in social and cultural psychology, with a research focus on critical social issues connected to identity and inclusion.
Despite being new to the campus and broader U-M academic community, Professor Brannon was recently recognized as the sole recipient of the Faculty Research Award from the bi-annual U-M Psychology Diversity Awards. Her publication in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, “Antiracism and positive intergenerational (infant) outcomes: A county-level examination of low birth weight and infant mortality” (2024), was honored for its outstanding contribution to knowledge about the diversity of human experience. Reflecting on her contributions, OS Director Elizabeth Popp Berman shared, “Professor Brannon's scholarship on the positive health outcomes associated with anti-racist movements for people from a wide range of backgrounds breaks new ground in helping think about the broad-based benefits of efforts to reduce racism.”
In the upcoming winter 2026 semester, Professor Brannon will make her OS teaching debut with ORGSTUDY 295, “Building Belonging: How Organizations Shape Inclusion and Thriving.” In this innovative course, students will explore how organizations such as universities and corporations can leverage their influence to foster inclusion and promote thriving at individual, institutional, and societal levels.
Please join us in officially welcoming Professor Tiffany Brannon to the OS program! We look forward to the fresh perspective, engaging instruction, and exceptional research she will contribute to the Organizational Studies community.
