Amanda Kowalski, the Gail Wilensky Professor of Applied Economics and Public Policy at the University of Michigan Department of Economics, and project team have been awarded a $2M grant through the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) as a part of the Meet the Moment Research Initiative. The initiative supports groundbreaking liberal arts and sciences research projects that address generational challenges that impact us socially, politically, and economically.
Professor Kowalski, along with project team members Sarah Burgard, Yanna Krupnikov, and Abram Wagner received the grant through a highly competitive process for their project "Shaping Real World Policies to Tackle Persistent Health Inequities using Randomized Early Access to COVID-19 Vaccinations through Michigan Medicine". The project uses COVID-19 vaccination data from Michigan Medicine to evaluate inequities in health and economic hardship.
