U-M Economics Alumna Rebecca Blumenstein Named Deputy Managing Editor of The New York Times
U-M Economics alumna Rebecca Blumenstein has been named Deputy Managing Editor of The New York Times. Prior to her new position, Blumenstein was the deputy editor-in-chief of The Wall Street Journal, where she had worked since 2005.
NYT Executive Editor Dean Baquet and Managing Editor Joe Kahn released a statement regarding Blumenstein, saying she will help them “do all the big things we intend to do in 2017 and beyond…She will focus on making sure we remain an essential destination for readers interested in business, finance, economics and technology.”
Blumenstein holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and social science from U-M, where she was editor-in-chief of the Michigan Daily.
