ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Are you an LSA student looking for a summer internship? Look no further than the 2023 LSA Internship Fair taking place on Tuesday, Feb. 14 in the Pendleton Room at the Michigan Union.

At this drop-in style event, LSA students will have the opportunity to meet with 25 employers across various industries, explore open internship opportunities for summer 2023, and gain helpful insights on launching a successful internship search from employer representatives and Hub coaches. 

“We encourage all liberal arts and sciences students to join us, regardless of where they are in their LSA journey,” says Assistant Director of Employer Engagement, Jordan Gray. “This event is the perfect space to explore internship options and make connections with trusted employers.”

The event is scheduled from 3:30-7:00 p.m and is open to all students enrolled at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LSA).

ATTENDING IN PERSON

Athletic Republic – Shelby & Commerce: Athletic Republic is an evidence-based sports training facility that has delivered improvements in speed, power, agility, and endurance to athletes of all ages.  Their brand is built out of a firm belief that there is a better way to train athletes, rehabilitate and maintain peak athletic performance.

Brilliant Detroit: A nonprofit organization dedicated to building “kid success neighborhoods,” by purchasing and transforming underutilized homes into community hubs and providing programming to ensure families with children ages 0-8 have what they need to be school-ready, healthy and stable.

Community Action Network (CAN): CAN partners with children, youth, and families from under-resourced Washtenaw County neighborhoods to create better futures for themselves and improve the communities in which they live by committing to represent and reflect the communities they partner with, prioritize the diversity of lived experiences, and empower the voices of the families to actively build an anti-racist future.

Detroit Zoological Society: The Detroit Zoological Society (DZS) is a nonprofit organization that operates the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak, Mich. and the Belle Isle Nature Center, located in Detroit. Accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, DZS employs approximately 350 full and part-time employees and hosts more than 500 volunteers throughout the year.

Ottawa Internship Program: This program is designed to provide first-hand learning experience in the Canadian government through placement with a Member of Parliament or Senator in the capital of Canada. Goals of this program include leadership training, learning the similarities and differences of policy problems and approaches and solutions to them, exposure to a different political party system, acquisition of new political language, viewing the image of the United States and American policies and politics from outside the country, and exposing students to career-oriented activities and possibilities within the world of politics.

Peace Corps: The Peace Corps works side-by-side with local leaders to tackle the most pressing challenges of our generation. From leading health campaigns to boosting local entrepreneurship to teaching digital literacy, the Peace Corps offers a range of opportunities for our Volunteers to take on new challenges.

Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan: Planned Parenthood Affiliates of Michigan is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit. Our mission is to protect and enhance the ability of affiliates to deliver comprehensive reproductive health services by affecting public policy.

Rocket Companies: A Detroit-based company made up of businesses that provide simple, fast and trusted digital solutions for complex transactions. Semester In Detroit: Semester in Detroit transforms U-M students through reciprocal relationships with the people, organizations, and neighborhoods of Detroit. By living, learning, and working in the city, our students engage with community leaders in transformative work - strengthening themselves as well as the wider region.

Teach for America: A nonprofit organization committed to confronting educational inequity by training passionate education leaders to teach for at least two years, then work with unwavering commitment in every sector of society to create a nation free from this injustice.

ATTENDING VIRTUALLY

LSA students looking to connect with the following employers must RSVP and attend the Internship Fair in person, while the employers join virtually. These conversations will take place in a specific room at the Michigan Union. Students who are interested in meeting with one or more of the virtual employers can sign up for a specific time slot after registering on LSA Engage.
