Host Events

Employer Connections bring employers and LSA students together for purposeful and meaningful conversations. In additional to providing general information, students come to these sessions with questions for recruiters about the organizations they represent:

• What makes this organization unique?
• What are the short-term and long-term objectives of the organization?
• How is the training or orientation program for new employees structured?
• What characteristics would the ideal job candidate have for this position?
• What have other interns and new LSA grads done at the company in the past?
• + more

The beauty of it all? You have the flexibility to determine the size and format of these sessions. If you prefer a small-group setting that allows for deeper exploration and learning, student attendance can be capped. Or, if you’d like to reach a large number of LSA students, panel events bring multiple employers together for students to learn about an industry firsthand through roundtable Q&A and conversations with employer representatives or recruiters from your organization.

The Hub collaborates with organizations to provide a more intimate alternative to the traditional career fair and a one-stop shop for navigating recruiting through the lens of each industry. During these events you’ll have the opportunity to engage with students in a traditional career fair format on a smaller scale to cultivate more personal relationships with attendees. Career Exploration Days are held in the Fall semester over several days. This allows companies to participate in multiple events to accommodate varying functions that you are hiring for and to get in front of differing student audiences as per your recruiting needs.

The largest event of the year hosted by the Hub on behalf of the college, the LSA Internship Fair is truly seismic: employers like you have the opportunity to engage with students in a traditional career fair format to unveil your internship programs and open internships and post-grad opportunities. You can help students understand your application process better, while identifying potential candidates for these opportunities. This event gets upwards of 500 students in attendance and is hosted during the winter semester.

These employer-led workshops give recruiters and professionals like yourself the reins to design a truly eye-opening learning experience for students interested in working at your company. You can give potential candidates a chance to experience the work of a given role, like opportunities to practice marketing strategies, navigate case studies, and more. This can also be used as an opportunity to build brand awareness on campus.

This option is best for employers who are looking to connect one-on-one with students in an informal, casual setting, sort of like an informational interview. The information you relay to students could include, but is not limited to: an explainer on company culture, active job and internship opportunities, resume and cover letter reviews, application preparation tips, and more.

This connection can be used as an opportunity to build brand awareness on campus by sharing general information about your organization. Companies do not need to have current internship or full-time opportunities available in order to host an Information Session or Lunch & Learn.
