Get Students in Your Workplace

With over 85 majors and 100 minors across 75 academic departments in the college, LSA graduates go on to pursue careers in virtually every industry, job function, and location. Because of the intellectually rigorous nature of their education and the breadth and scope of their learning, U-M’s undergraduate students in the liberal arts and sciences are adaptive and agile thinkers that are better prepared to come work with you and nurture their leadership potential.

There are three ways to recruit talented LSA students:

1 | Post an Internship or Job on LSA Engage

2 | Provide Job Shadowing

3 | Create Career Treks

1 | Internships & Jobs

Have internships and post-grad job opportunities to fill? Post your internship or job on LSA Engage, the college’s online career services platform, so you can get your opportunities in front of the most diverse pool of applicants — more than 19,000 LSA students.

2 | Provide Job Shadowing

Job Shadowing gives students a first-hand look at the professions they hope to pursue. Students have the chance to observe current professionals in the field while they perform the daily tasks of their role, and it is a way for them to gain an immersive understanding of a day-in-the-life of a particular career type from the perspective of the professional. It’s an opportunity for students to “taste test” or “test drive” professions of interest.

3 | Create Career Treks

Career Treks are an opportunity for LSA students to experientially learn about your company or organization by visiting your office or headquarters. These company-site visits are designed to give LSA students a 360° overview of your organization: you can teach them about the culture, have current employees answer their questions, provide information about the career pathways or succession tracks that can help new hires grow within the organization. “Treks” can range from one to three days depending on the location.
