SLC Tutoring Program Earns CRLA Level 1 Certification Renewal through 2025

The College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) has renewed the SLC's Tutoring Program Level 1 Certification status through November 2025.

The Science Learning Center (SLC) is sponsored by the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) to support teaching and learning in the natural sciences. We have two centers, each providing computer labs, meeting alcoves, study space and a loan desk for reserve and study materials.

Now Accepting Applications

We are now accepting applications for both study group facilitator and peer tutor positions for winter term. Click on the above links for more information and applications for each program.

Fall 2023 Study Groups

Online registration for Fall 2023 SLC Study Groups has begun and will continue throughout the term.

Fall 2023 Tutoring for Science Courses

Appointment-Based Peer Tutoring begins Tuesday, September 5 and is open to students enrolled in the following courses for the Fall 2023 term: Astronomy 101, Astronomy 102, Bio 171, Bio 172, Bio 225, Bio 305, Chem 130, Chem 210, Chem 215, Chem 230, Chem 260/261, Chem 351, MCDB 310, MCDB 322, Physics 140, Physics 150, Physics 240, Physics 250 through Wednesday, December 6.

Fall 2023 Astronomy Tutoring

The Science Learning Center will begin providing appointment-based peer tutoring for eligible students in Astronomy 101 & 102 beginning Tuesday, September 5.
