Why Join an SLC Study Group?

  • Study and tackle challenging course concepts with the same group of peers for two hours each week.
  • Receive guidance and support from a trained Study Group Facilitator who has already successfully completed the course at UM.
  • Get supplemental materials that are relevant to course content and exams.
  • Build meaningful relationships with peers who are learning the same, often rigorous, material.

Attendance Policy
Although participation in the SLC Study Group Program is voluntary, students must make a commitment to attend regularly and actively participate in the study group once they have registered. Therefore, study group members who miss four meetings in a term (fall and winter) or two meetings (spring and summer) will be dropped from the study group in order to allow students on the waitlist to join.  If you are dropped from a study group for non-attendance, you will not be allowed to rejoin the same study group unless approved through a meeting with the Study Group Program Staff (email SLCStudyGroups@umich.edu to request an appointment).
