About
Anna is a fourth year RLL Spanish PhD Candidate. She received her BA from the University of Virginia (2020) in Global Studies and Spanish, with a concentration in Cinematography. Her PhD research is situated within transatlantic feminist movements and focuses on the role of performance in activism. Anna's research deals with issues relating to migration, domestic labor rights, and experimental filmmaking. In this research, she collaborates with a group of activists and domestic workers in Madrid, Spain to make films at the intersections of these topics.
Anna's doctoral films have most recently screened at L'Alternativa Festival de Cine Independent de Barcelona, Documenta Madrid International Film Festival, and the 63rd Ann Arbor Film Festival where it was awarded the Tom Berman Award for Best Documentary Film.
