The Howard L. Roth Memorial fund provides a fellowship for attendance for an Economics PhD student. Howard L. Roth was an Economics PhD program alum, receiving his PhD in 1982.

Margaret "Meggie" Underwood
Margaret “Meggie” Underwood is a first year economics PhD student at the University of Michigan. Meggie received her BSFS from Georgetown University in International Economics where she was awarded the William F. Notz Medal for International Economics and was the Chair of the Carroll Round International Economics Conference. After graduating from Georgetown in 2019, Meggie worked on Wall Street for four years, specializing in corporatederivatives. She then spent two years as a predoctoral fellow at Harvard Business School conducting research in finance and operations management. Her research interests lie predominantly in macroeconomics and international economics.
