Zhaoming (Richard) Shi graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022, receiving a BS in economics with honors in the major, a BS in mathematics, and a Certificate in Business. His primary academic interests lie in structural macroeconomics, monetary economics, and international finance. During his undergraduate career, Richard was exposed to frequency-domain forecasting techniques and advanced liquidity theory. Later, he utiliized the structural vector autoregression model to disentangle factors in the global crude oil market. Working as a research assistant, he also analyzed the dynamics between employment mix across industries and well-identified exogenous trade shocks under a structural framework.
