Nancy Laethem Stern serves as CEO of Allston Holdings LLC, a PE-backed electronic trading firm that is one of the most active traders of financial futures and commodities futures in the US and Europe. With 90 employees in Chicago, New York, London and Houston, Allston develops proprietary technology to support its human traders and its quantitative trading research platform. Nancy joined Allston in 2013 as its Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Prior to joining Allston, Nancy was a Partner of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP for seven years, where her practice focused on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. She previously was with Gardner, Carton and Douglas LLP (now Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath) for 10 years, where she was a Partner and Vice-Chair of the Corporate and Securities Practice Group. Nancy began her career as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert H. Cleland, United States District Judge. Since 2015, she has also served as a non-executive director on the Board of Directors of exp Global Inc., an engineering, architecture, design, and consulting firm with 3,600 employees in 88 offices in the United States, Canada, Algeria, and Vietnam.
Nancy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, with distinction, and a Juris Doctor degree, both from the University of Michigan. She lives in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago with her husband and their three children.
