Before retiring in 2018, Jeffrey Leeds served as Member of the Board of Directors of Brookdale Senior Living, Inc., the largest operator of senior living facilities in the United States for 13 years. He joined the Board in 2006, and was appointed Chairman in 2012.
Leeds was executive vice president and chief financial officer of GreenPoint Financial Corp. and GreenPoint Bank from January 1999 until the company was sold in October 2004. He joined the bank in 1995 and previously served as executive vice president, finance, and as treasurer.
Before GreenPoint, Leeds held a variety of positions at Chemical Bank. His final assignment was as head of the asset and liability management staff. Prior to that, he served for seven years as chief money market economist.
Leeds began his career as an economist at the First National Bank of Chicago. He also spent two years as director of new product development at the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
Leeds holds an MBA and MPhil from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
