Elementary Language Program Coordinator
About
Erin Russ Fajardo serves as the current Elementary Language Program Coordinator in the Romance Languages & Literatures Department.
Erin earned her BA in Spanish with Honors from the department in 2014, and won an outstanding Honors Thesis Award for her work on Federico Garcia Lorca's “Juego y teoría del duende”: https://lsa.umich.edu/rll/undergraduates/awards.html
She then went on to earn her MA in Spanish Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016, and served as the Graduate Language Program Coordinator for La Residencia - the Spanish Immersion dormitory on campus.
Erin has roughly 8 years combined lecturing experience at the college level: as a Teaching Assistant of Spanish at UW-Madison, Adjunct Professor of Spanish at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and full-time Lecturer of Spanish at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls from 2018-2022.
She took a hiatus from lecturing to be able to work for Amazon Publishing as their EU Production Coordinator from 2022-2024, working as part of Amazon's in-house publishing team which has published books in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Erin was born and raised in Ann Arbor and spent many hours on campus (as well as wandering the halls of the MLB) both as a child and later as an undergrad. After 8 years combined in both Wisconsin and Minnesota completing her graduate degree and lecturing experience, she recently moved back home to Ann Arbor, re-joining the University of Michigan in 2024, this time as an employee instead of a student!
Please stop by her office and say hi, especially for chats about anything Ann Arbor, Michigan Football, Dogs, or Gardening/Plants.
