Tati is a veteran language instructor teaching since 1991. Her main interests are native and diasporic cultures of the Americas, art and intangible heritage, and the impact of mainstream societies in minoritized communities.

She has been awarded several grants, among them the Gilbert Whitaker Fund for the Improvement of Teaching, the Lecturer's Professional Development Fund, and the Matthews Underclass Teaching Award.

She has led several study abroad programs in Perú, Costa Rica, and Argentina.
