Romance Languages Celebrates 2013 Faculty Promotions
The University of Michigan Regents approved the promotions of five Romance Languages and Literatures faculty members in 2013.
Jarrod Hayes, Professor of French. His book Queer Roots for the Diaspora, Ghosts in the Family Tree is under review at Oxford University Press.
George Hoffmann, Professor of French. His book Alone unto Their Distance: French Reformers, Satire and the Creation of Religious Foreignness is under review at Oxford University Press.
Karla Mallette, Professor of Italian and Near Eastern Studies. Her book European Modernity and the Arab Mediterranean: Toward a New Philology of Counter-Orientalism was published in 2012 by University of Pennsylvania Press.
Paolo Squatriti, Professor of History and Italian. His book Landscape and Change in Early Medieval Italy: Chestnuts, Economy, and Culture is under review at Cambridge University Press.
Ryan Szpiech, Associate Professor of Spanish and Judaic Studies. His Book Conversion and Narrative: Reading and Religious Authority in Medieval Polemic was published in 2013 by University of Pennsylvania Press.
