The Gerald C. and Theresa F. Timmis III Fellowship in Finance and Economics will provide fellowships to a PhD students pursuing a degree in Economics with a concentration in finance or economic theory.
Winter 2025 Recipient: Peter Choi
Peter Choi is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Michigan whose work centers on the design of tax systems. His current research in business tax models examines the impact of market power on optimal taxation and enforcement, and whether and in what manner joint implementation of profit and output taxes is beneficial. He also studies the allocation problem state governments face in distributing education funding to local districts. Prior to Michigan, he graduated in 2019 with a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Dartmouth College.
