The Single Particle Tracker (SPT) is the most sensitive Core fluorescent microscope, allowing high-resolution multicolor fluorescent imaging down to single fluorophores at image speeds up to 200Hz. This sensitivity is enabled by the combination of EMCCD and sCMOS cameras capable of extreme low-light sensing and special illumination modes (TIRF and HILO) that dramatically improve SNR.
A stage heater and environmental controls allow long-term live-cell imaging, along with fluidics for automated buffer/reagent exchange.
A bank of low-noise lasers allow quantitative imaging across the visible spectrum.
Example Applications
- Tracking and co-localization of fluorescent proteins
- Single molecule imaging (e.g. smFISH)
- Protein conformational dynamics via single molecule FRET
- PALM/STORM 3D super-resolution imaging
- Automated serially multiplexed labeling and imaging
Key Features
- Dual EMCCD or sCMOS cameras for extreme low-light imaging
- Heating and atmospheric controls for extended live-cell imaging
- Fast laser switching for ALEX (alternative excitation)
- Microinjection platform for fast, reliable in situ transfection
- Objective drift compensation to maintain focus even during long observations
