Biophysics Undergraduate Travel Grants are intended to assist in providing opportunities for our undergraduate majors to participate in professional connections with others in their academic field.
To be eligible for this grant, the student must be:
- A Biophysics major currently registered at the University of Michigan
- Actively involved in a Biophysics-related research group (either by being enrolled in 399/499, being employed in a lab as a temp or work-study or by working in a lab but for neither credit nor pay*)
- Presenting a talk, paper or poster at a conference related to the student's research in Biophysics (such as the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting)
*Note: preference is given to students either employed or enrolled in 399/499
These grants are $300 each and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. A student can only apply for one travel grant per fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Each student's research group is expected to cover the remainder of the costs. Applications should be submitted no later than two months before the planned travel. The number of awards may be limited by the availability of funds, although we will make every effort to fund as many requests as possible each year.
