Biophysics Preview Program

What is Biophysics Preview?

Biophysics Preview is a fall event for prospective graduate students interested in the Biophysics graduate program at the University of Michigan.

The program invites approximately six highly qualified prospective graduate students to visit campus for an all-expenses-paid experience.

During the Biophysics Preview Program, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet one-on-one with Biophysics core faculty, affiliated faculty, and current graduate students
  • Tour research facilities in the Chemistry Building
  • Receive guidance on applying to graduate school
  • Explore the University of Michigan campus and the city of Ann Arbor
  • Attend the Biophysics All-Hands Retreat

Who Can Participate?

Highly qualified prospective graduate students are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students who meet the eligibility guidelines for the Rackham Merit Fellowship Program.

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, permanent residents, or undocumented students with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) who are recent college graduates or will graduate no later than spring.

All applicants must intend to apply for admission to the U-M Biophysics doctoral program.

What to Expect

Throughout the Preview visit, you will have the opportunity to network with important members of the Biophysics research community here at Michigan and get a good look at what life is like as a graduate student and member of a thriving scientific laboratory.

There is no cost to attend! Travel and housing expenses, including on-campus meals, are provided for students selected for participation in the program.
