Biophysics Preview Program

What is Biophysics Preview?

Biophysics Preview is a Fall event for prospective students. We will invite approximately six highly qualified prospective graduate students for an all-expense-paid trip to experience the Biophysics graduate program at the University of Michigan.

During the Preview program, students will have the opportunity to:

  • Interact one-on-one with faculty and current graduate students
  • Tour our research facilities
  • Receive tips on how to apply to graduate school
  • Explore campus and the beautiful and culturally diverse city of Ann Arbor

Biophysics Preview Application Deadline: August 2025

Program Dates: Fall 2025

Who Can Participate?

Highly qualified prospective graduate students are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students from low-income homes, students who are first-generation college students or students whose backgrounds are underrepresented in Academia.

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents or undocumented students with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). All applicants must plan on starting graduate school in Fall 2026.

What to Expect

Throughout the Preview you will have the opportunity to network with important members of the Biophysics research community here at Michigan and get a good look at what life is like as a graduate student and member of a thriving scientific laboratory.

Biophysics Preview participants will attend the Biophysics All-Team Retreat.

There is no cost to attend! Travel and housing expenses, including on-campus meals, are provided for students selected for participation in the program.
