Biophysics is the branch of knowledge that applies the principles of physics and chemistry and the methods of mathematical analysis & computer modeling to understand how biological systems work.
The Biophysics Club provides opportunities for undergraduate students to pursue academic-related activities in the field of Biophysics and related sciences, aiming to promote the pursuit of Biophysics and other STEM fields, diversifying interactions in the scientific community, and connecting fellow biophysics students.
The Biophysics club is open to anyone interested in Biophysics! As a club, we have weekly/biweekly meetings to discuss research done in the field and to hear about each others' experience with biophysics. Come meet people who share the same interest and passion! Learn more about what biophysics has to offer you and the world!
Activities throughout the year vary and include a combination of social, service and professional development.
Our undergraduate Biophysics Club has been a Student Chapter of the Biophysical Society since 2018! The Biophysical Society was founded in 1958 to lead the development and dissemination of knowledge in biophysics. It does so through its many programs, including its meetings, publications, and committee outreach activities. The Society's members, now over 9,000, work in academia, industry, and in government agencies throughout the world.
Students who want to get involved can email biophysicsclub@umich.edu.
