Application Requirements
Applications to the Biophysics Program are submitted online through the Rackham Graduate School.
Applications must include the following:
- Statement of Purpose
- Personal Statement
- Letters of Recommendation (3)
- Transcripts
- TOEFL (if needed)
- Completed Online Application Form
GRE general test scores are no longer included in the admissions process.
The application fee is waived for U.S. citizens and permanent residents only.
The academic statement of purpose, the personal statement, and a curriculum vitae (CV) or resume work together to give a fuller picture of your interests, motivations, and experiences. These three documents must be uploaded to the ApplyWeb application.
All aspects of the application are reviewed carefully by the Biophysics Admissions Committee.

August 30, 2024: Initial Biophysics Preview status notification.
November 7-8, 2024: Graduate Preview Weekend. More Information.
December 6, 2024: Ph.D. Program Application Deadline.
Late December/early January (Rolling Basis): Admissions offers sent out.
February 20-22, 2025: In-Person Recruiting Weekend (for students who recieve admissions offer).
March 14, 2025: Virtual Recruiting Weekend (for students who recieve admissions offer).
April 15, 2025: Offer response due.

Students who receive an offer of admission are invited to an in-person Recruiting Weekend on February 20-22, 2025 (International students and those who cannot make the in-person event are invited to visit us virtually on March 14, 2025).
