The MiniTweezers is a simplified optical tweezer system for measuring biomolecular forces and displacements, down to sub-pN and sub-nm resolution. Based on a design from Carlos Bustamante’s group, this system uses a micropipette to hold one bead while another is manipulated and measured in the optical trap. Integrated fluidics facilitate reagent exchange during an assay.
Example Applications
- Motor protein force/displacement measurement
- Nucleoprotein force measurement
Key Features
- Sub-pn force resolution
- Sub-nm displacement resolution
- 1kHz sample rate
- Max Force 150pN
