There's more spontaneous conversation, and people will start talking to you, sharing about their day [...] or try and set you up with their son. I have noticed that a lot of people will go far out of their way to help you, even if they don't know you.
Being half black, I had moments when I was surprised, shocked, saddened. In Brazil, they base ethnicity on color alone...[there,] I was white. It was definitely emotional to see black struggle so prominent.
