Peer Advisors
The Center for Global & Intercultural Study (CGIS) is hiring Peer Advisors! No previous study abroad or international experience required & work-study students are desirable, but not required. Peer advisors serve as a support role for all functions of the CGIS office. This position includes clerical work in the CGIS office as well as serving in an outreach capacity to students throughout the University of Michigan.
Office Responsibilities
Provide initial advising to prospective study abroad students
Present daily on CGIS programs, financial aid & scholarships, & more
Answer office phone & email inquiries
Provide office support such as filing, making photocopies, data entry, etc.
Staff the reception desk periodically
Assist staff with additional tasks as needed
Special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications
Experience with public speaking & related equipment/technology
Experience with Social Media platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Prezi
Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse groups
Strong communication & customer services skills
Demonstrated ability to remain flexible, positive, & organized
Ability to take initiative & maintain student confidentiality
