About
I’m a PhD student and Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan’s Romance Languages and Literatures Department.
My research focuses on Latin American cultural production surrounding illness and disabilities. I am interested in cultural production and discourse that challenges the absolute medical authority over patients' lived experiences. By shedding light on the limitations of medical research and practice in capturing the complexities of illness and disability, I aim to illuminate the ways in which Latin American disabled and sick individuals have historically challenged medical discourse than negates their experience beyond normative frameworks.
