Giving Blueday is the University of Michigan's annual day of giving, uniting the global U-M community in a celebration and support of all things maize and blue.

In 2026, Michigan Biophysics is prioritizing the Strategic Fund to Support the People Behind the Science.

Gifts to the Biophysics Strategic Fund play a vital role in advancing innovation and promoting excellence within our Program. Your support provides seed funding for new faculty research, curriculum development, essential lab upgrades, and the purchase or repair of major laboratory instruments, as well as support for special initiatives identified by Biophysics leadership. These investments strengthen our efforts to bridge the physical and biological sciences and ensure that Michigan remains a leader in Biophysics.

First Time Donor Matches

First-time U-M donors who give $50 or more will receive a match of $50. Excludes current U-M students. First-come, first-served. A maximum of $60,000 will be counted toward this challenge.

Student Donor Match

Current U-M students who give $25 or more will receive a match of $25. Excludes alumni. First-come, first-served. A maximum of $25,000 will be counted toward this challenge.

Faculty and Staff Challenge

The top 3 funds that receive the most gifts from current U-M faculty and staff on Giving Blueday will receive the following prizes. Excludes student organizations.

• 1st place - $1,500
• 2nd place - $1,000
• 3rd place - $500

LSA Power Hours

Give during the hours of 8-9 a.m., 12-1 p.m., 4-5 p.m., 6-7 p.m., and 8-9 p.m. (all times  EST) and help your favorite LSA cause win extra match dollars. The LSA department with the most donors during the hour earns an additional $1,000!

LSA Blueday Bash

LSA Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and donors are invited to join us from 1-4pm on March 18 in the LSA Building, in the lobby area outside of the multipurpose room, for the Blueday Bash! There will be March Madness-themed fun, including LSA swag, game day snacks, and a chance to earn real match dollars for your favorite LSA cause (Biophysics!). Just showing up can make a difference!

LSA Donor Matches | Give early and earn these special matches!

• LSA Loyal Donors: If you've supported LSA before, then you have the opportunity to double your gift through this 1:1 match (up to $1,000). A maximum of $10,000 will be awarded through this match.
• LSA Parents: Be one of the first 100 parents to make a gift of $50+ and receive a 1:1 match (up to $50). A maximum of $5,000 will be awarded through this match.
• LSA Young Alumni: Five LSA alumni of the last 10 years who donate on Giving Blueday will be randomly selected to earn an additional $500 match to the LSA fund of their choice.
