Academic Services & Advising

Welcome! The Residential College Advising Team provides advising for all RC students, LSA students taking RC majors or minors, and LSA students interested in transferring into the RC.

Our advisors are RC faculty and staff members who will help you sort out both RC and LSA requirements as well as any other concerns you have regarding your academic progress or adjustment to college. All of our advisors are experienced, knowledgeable, and happy to meet with you throughout the school year!

As an RC student, you have an assigned RC advisor, but you are welcome to meet with anyone on the Academic Advising team to discuss your advising questions and plans. Click the blue button below to see upcoming availability or scroll down to learn more about who's on the team.

Advising appointments are available Monday through Friday during the academic year. Use the blue button below to schedule advising today!

*If you are a current LSA student looking to transfer to the Residential College, you can find more information on this website!*

RC Advising Team

General Advising: This is the most common type of advising appointment. Our RC General Advisors are BrianaBeccaDarcy, MabelTheresa, and Candice. They advise RC students on just about everything! Examples include: finalizing or changing class schedules, deciding on a major or course of study, figuring out an academic plan, addressing academic concerns, and more.

Living-learning Advising: Our Living-learning Advisor is Becca Pickus, an RC alum (STP and Creative Writing). Becca received her MSW from the U-M School of Social Work, where she focused on trauma, grief, and loss. As our Living-learning Advisor, Becca works to address common challenges for incoming first-year students such as transitioning to college, personal or family concerns, and mental health support.

If the available appointments in the scheduling system do not fit your needs, please email Becca Pickus directly at rpickus@umich.edu.

Transferring Out: To request to be removed from the RC, please fill out this form. The RC Academic Services Coordinator will process your request and reach out to schedule an appointment with you if needed.
