Becca Pickus

Becca Pickus is a lecturer and general advisor in the RC, as well as the Major Program Head and Advisor for Social Theory and Practice (STP), an interdisciplinary, individualized, cohort-based social justice-focused major in LSA. Her classes focus on restorative justice, transformative justice, and abolition in theory and in practice; decarceration activism; arts-based, trauma-responsive, and healing-centered praxis; and critical pedagogies. 

Becca is an RC alumna (STP and Creative Writing) and received her MSW from the University of Michigan School of Social Work. Her clinical interests include psychodynamic and attachment theory; play therapy; and trauma, grief, and loss. 

Becca is also the Living/Learning Advisor in the RC, where she supports RC students navigating non-academic challenges that are affecting their experiences at college. In this role, she serves as a Field Instructor for clinical-track MSW student interns.
